The Backstory

Profusion Group are a banking & financial services recruitment & executive search firm with offices in Sydney & Melbourne. They’ve been operating since 2004 and recruit roles for areas such as; insurance, asset management, superannuation, as well as private, business & retail banking.

The Challenge

Profusion Group already had a website that provided 3 core features they required; a job board, job alerts & a candidate registration form.

The largest problem was the site was not optimised to work on smartphones & tablets, which was consequently hurting them in search rankings, as well as causing a poor candidate experience when job searching.

The main design problems they faced were; the site was feeling dated and quite plain (with a very low image to text ratio), it wasn’t conveying their brand personality effectively and it was also not clearly communicating to its target audiences. They were also not showcasing their team or industry expertise.

While sight had a decent page structure, it had a very poor user experience and site flow, with no footer & almost no in page navigation, as well as some bad on page SEO.

And finally, updating content was limited and cumbersome without allowing for much flexibility as the business grew.

The Process

Firstly, we had to assess the real problems in the eyes of the client so as to ensure they didn’t just have a shinier mouse trap at the end.

We chose a framework & content management system that would allow both flexibility for now and future development, whilst at the same time allow them to easily manage and update content on the website such as; new staff, testimonials, blogs & articles, & press releases.

Together we identified that we were after a very specific blend of design attributes that would not only present their new brand refresh, but also not alienate any particular part of their target market.

After going through our 20-to-1 design phase which allowed for maximum creative scope and ideas, a design was chosen that the client felt captured exactly what they were trying to achieve.

Once the designs are finalised we move on to the development phase where the designs are actually converted from beautiful pictures into a functioning and interactive website.

We build the site, upload all content, create our custom software integrations to the JobAdder system using our own private APIs to ensure the website and recruitment platform work seamlessly together.

We go through a rigorous testing phase that ensures the site is fully compliant with industry standards, operates with maximum speed as preferred by Google, and finally a heavy security lockdown to protect against hacking and malicious bots.

This is the second time I've used Simon to help with my company website design and development. In the recruiting industry we rely heavily on our website and database to operate and attract new candidates, so I was very happy to see the results were exactly we wanted, even better than I expected. Job seekers can browse and search all the available jobs and make applications directly into the JobAdder recruitment management system, with any new roles or changes they make in-house automatically updating on the website in real-time.

Their site is now optimized for SEO meaning their rankings will improve and traffic will increase as a result.

With the new blog area, upgraded menu structure, site navigation & social media integration, the site will have an increased standing in the eyes of Google as a reputable & current website.
